Airport Operational Statistics

There are approximately 275 +/- aircraft based at S50, including; single engine, multi-engine and helicopters. The Airport hosts 54 closed hangars and 91 open hangars. There are tie downs for approximately 130 aircraft.

Privately developed condo and rental hangars are available. Please contact airport staff members for information on available hangars and tie-downs.

Additional Information

The airport is adjacent to a wetlands on west perimeter. Birds and other wildlife frequent the area. High volume of flight training both fixed wing and rotor-craft. Ultralights and Hot air balloons are prohibited.

Approach Patterns

VASI and REIL lighting systems will help locate the runway, there is visual congestion on approach. Please see the Airport Traffic Pattern "PDF Attachment" for a detailed look. Because of aircraft noise complaints and the Airports continuing effort to be a great neighbor the airport traffic pattern for both rotor-craft and fixed wing have been combined and restricted to the west side. In addition, The Auburn Airport utilizes an Automated "Super" Unicom (122.8) for airport advisory's. Within 5-7 miles simply click your mic 3 times for wind, temperature/dew point. Click your mic another 3 times for detailed reporting.

Noise sensitive areas surround the airport especially areas located to the south and east in all quadrants. Schools and hospitals are within a one mile radius, management requests that they are avoided if possible.
